Neven is a name you will know about in a few years when discussing fruit brandy. His attention to detail, respect to nature, and passion for distilling is something I truly admire and respect. I am so glad I got to learn from him and even more proud to call him my friend.
In 2017, Neven Vorkapic spent several weeks here at Cedar Ridge Distillery, interning as a brewer/distiller. It was immediately apparent to us that Neven has a strong business mind, wishing to also involve himself in brand development, product costing, etc. That said, Neven was a very reliable distiller for us within only a couple of days of training. Neven fully understands the art and science involved in the process. Also, he worked all day and also then volunteered to work even into the evenings. It was a pleasure getting to know Neven. We liked him so much we even came to visit him in Rijeka where he acted as a great ambassador for the country of Croatia. We fully expect to see Neven again soon, hopefully in his country, to visit his new business.
Kapela represents a new wave of distilleries. A company dedicated to creating authentic, regional, high-end spirits but willing to share the knowledge they possess. I look forward to the day I can find Kapela on the shelf!
